· Children without fathers are twice as likely to drop out of school.
As Morehouse Men, we recognize the impact of having positive male figures involved with their families and in the community. Our Father’s Day Brunch is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society.
At the 2013 Father’s Day Brunch, the Houston Metropolitan Chapter (HMAA) of the Morehouse College National Alumni Association will present one Houston area man with the Maroon Tiger Father of the Year Award. HMAA will hold a citywide essay contest that allows high school students to nominate their father or male role model for this award. Awards will also be presented to Houston area men who excel in the areas of Leadership, Service and Mentorship.
