19 year old Justin Sellars seemed to be on the right path from all appearances last Monday.
The Friendswood resident went to the local library and checked out five books for the day.
But it appears Sellars didn’t have plans to curl up with a good novel for the day…
Friendswood police say the man with books in hand headed straight to a local bookstore.
Sellars then allegedly sold the books he’d just checked out less than 45 minutes earlier at the library.
The first giveaway to the employees at the book store were the actual books according to investigators.
They were all stamped – property of Friendswood library.
The clerk at the book store immediately called the cops and when officers arrived it just so happens Sellars was just returning to the scene of the alleged crime.
The 19 year old was charged with theft for trying to sell $200 worth of library books.
Oh – by the way, Sellars confessed to the cops he did it because he needed gas money.
