Press Release: Noted Houston attorney Rusty Hardin is being honored for his work in significant civil and criminal law cases after being named by The National Law Journal to the 2013 edition of The 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America .

The list of the “law’s power elite” includes those rare attorneys who have shaped the legal world, taken on major legal battles and delivered great results for clients. The National Law Journal cited Mr. Hardin’s recent tenacious defense of former professional baseball player Roger Clemens against great odds, which resulted in a full acquittal, in addition to highlighting Mr. Hardin’s former role as a prosecutor in the Office of the Independent Counsel during the Whitewater investigation in 1994.

“I’m honored to be named and thankful for all the wonderful people I work with who’ve helped get such great results for a wide variety of clients, all of whom trust us when they’re involved in the most important fights of their lives,” says Mr. Hardin, founder of Houston’s Rusty Hardin and Associates, LLP, where his partners and team handle both civil and criminal cases for the famous and the unknown.

Mr. Hardin works with a hand-picked group of talented partners and associates, including several former prosecutors. The firm’s recent successes include such diverse matters as defending government officials accused of wrongdoing, and securing a $10 million settlement for a family who lost a beloved 51-year-old father in an 18-wheeler crash.

Mr. Hardin is nationally known for taking on tough cases. He traveled a hard road on behalf of Mr. Clemens, bucking Congress and the Justice Department. He took on the Justice Department for accounting firm client Arthur Andersen, winning final vindication at the U.S. Supreme Court. In Texas, he worked pro bono to lead the effort against ex-federal judge Sam Kent, who was sentenced to federal prison after abusing Mr. Hardin’s female client and others.
