Press Release: Houston District Attorney Mike Anderson, Houston Police Chief McClelland and Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia know even with weapons, that sometimes you might need to call for a “Higher Power”. The Law Enforcement leadership in the City of Houston and Harris County, one of the largest in the State of Texas and the Nation have sent for and requested the ” Houston Ministers Against Crime, the Baptist Ministers Association, the Police and Clergy Alliance” and a host of Spiritual leaders from across the City and County to meet them at the Harris County Criminacl Court Center in Downtown Houston on Monday morning, April 8th, at 11:00am, for one purpose, Prayer.
Recent murders of Law Enforcement officials in Texas, Mississippi, Wisconsin, California and other regions have alarmed law enforcement all over the Nation. Some of the recent murders have never been so violent to Police or Lawyers, as it relates to the type and senselessness of the Evil acts. Many of the Clergy leaders, normally take Monday off to relax and rest after full weeks of sermons, counseling, funerals and other ministry activities. But this is different, the law Enforcement community in Houston and harris County work very close with the Clergy and have for over 30 years. President of the Houston Ministers Against Crime, Founder, the Rev. Dr. F.N. Williams,Sr. states, “we serve God and we respect the Police leadership, when they call for our help we usually respond. This request is for Prayer and we will be Downtown to Pray”.
