Houston, Texas: The Higher Dimension Church and Its Office of Community Empowerment continues in their plight to transform the Westwood Community with their efforts to Give Back and Get Strong Back to School Outreach and Youth Empowerment Day! On Sunday August 18, 2013 at The Higher Dimension Church located at 9800 Club Creek in Houston, Texas the church will serve 1,000 youth in the community with Back Packs and School Supplies.

Give Back and Get Strong is an outreach effort to ignite the Westwood Community to begin to prepare the youth for the upcoming school year. “We believe Strong Children are prepared children,” says Executive Director, Nickcole Byrd, of the Higher Dimension Church’s Office of Community Empowerment.

The Higher Dimension Church has spent the summer attacking the issue of homeless youth in the community with their Summer Food and Recreation Program in partnership with the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department, where for six weeks they served over 360 children.

The Higher Dimension Church and its Office of Community Empowerment continues to lead the state with its efforts to combat both the HIV virus among youth while simultaneously creating Drug Free Communities in Westwood with the continued growth of their Westwood Community Coalition funded by the national SAMHSA grant. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration has funded only two youth programs of this kind in the state of Texas.
Those families in need of backpacks and school supplies should be on site at the Higher Dimension Church on August 18, 2013 during the hours 12:30 pm to 3:00p.m.
