Sources tell the Factor a letter has been written to Governor Rick Perry asking him to appoint District Attorney Mike Anderson’s #2 to the position he leaves vacant after his recent death.
We’ve learned that letter is coming from the 5,000+ member strong Houston Police Officers’ Union.
The group is hoping Governor Perry will appoint the former judge here in Harris County and current First Assistant District Attorney Belinda Hill to the post.
Anderson died last week after a battle with cancer.
If appointed Hill would be the first African American District Attorney in Harris County.
