With more than 550 dogs and cats taken into BARC’s facility over the past week, BARC is taking tons of adoptable puppies, dogs, cats and kittens out to the community for a mega pet adoption event this weekend.

BARC employees and more than 40 volunteers are gearing up for a giant Furry Invasion of Cosmic Companions  mega event at the H-E-B Montrose Market, located at 1701 W. Alabama, Houston 77098, on Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All regular adoption fees will be cut in half at the event: Dogs will be $25, puppies will be $37.50, cats will be $10 and kittens will be $17.50.

For the first time ever, BARC will accept Mastercard and Visa in addition to cash at the event. Saturday’s half-off regular adoption fees will also apply at BARC’s facility, located at 3200 Carr Street, Houston 77026.

BARC’s adoption center will be open noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday.”We’re taking in hundreds of dogs and cats every week, and we’re hoping that this Cosmic Companion invasion will help every single animal find a brand new home with a great family.

Plus, we have some really great partners that are helping make this event even better than any mega event in BARC’s history,” said Chris Newport, BARC spokesman. “We even have outdoor air conditioning for the adoption tents so that adopters can stay cool while they search for their new addition to the family.”

BARC hopes to leave Saturday’s event with only empty crates in tow. BARC invites all Houstonians to stop by and find the perfect cosmic companion before BARC has to send them back to the mother ship.
