VIETNAMESE FISHERMEN WANT THEIR DAY IN COURT!

For a second day this week a group of Vietnamese fishermen was back in the Harris County Civil court house.

The group has sued International Paper and Waste Management over allegations the companies have cost them their livelihoods.

The fishermen, in their civil lawsuit, claim a papermill that was eventually purchased by International Paper contaminated their fishing area.

The plaintiffs say dioxin has been found in an area stretching from the San Jacinto River to Galveston Bay.

The state has also designated fish coming from the area as unsafe.

We attempted to get a comment from attorneys representing International Paper and they declined to comment on the pending litigation.
