On Jan 30, 2014, Harris County Sheriff discovered a family of four were shot to death at their home in Cypress. The victims were Maoye Sun (50), Mei Xie (49) and their two sons Timothy Xie Sun (9) and Titus Xiao Sun (7). Harris County Sheriff Office has ruled it as a murder case and is currently seeking public help for information.
The Houston Chinese Alliance (HCA) is asking for help from the local Chinese community to come forward with any information related to the adult victims, such as their hobbies, activities after work, friends and associates, business partners and activities, etc. These information will help the police investigation. We are urging any individuals with information related to the crime to contact the police (Harris County Sheriff Office Sgt Rivera Tel: 713-967-5729). Finally, we are starting a donation drive to provide the fund to reward any individual who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s), and for the travel expenses of the victims’ family/relatives coming to Houston.
While the Chinese Community in Houston area is shocked by the violent nature of the crime, we are also gravely concerned about the public safety here. In order to honor the slain victims, and to raise awareness about safety in our city, Houston Chinese Alliance will hold a candlelight vigil at the following venue. Please join us!
