Press Release from Slim Thug’s public relations rep:

Houston rapper Slim Thug received his own day as a reward for his good deeds and active involvement within the Houston community.
On behalf of Council Member Jerry Davis and Mayor Annise D. Parker, February 25, 2014 was officially declared as “Slim Thug” day Tuesday afternoon in Houston’s City Hall.
The Houston native is mostly known for his lavish lifestyle, debonair looks and his contributions to the rap community in the south, but those that know him best cannot deny the fact that “Thugga” loves, supports and represents everything Houston.
Outside of his “Boss Life” lifestyle, Slim can be seen inside his former neighborhood, Scenic Woods, located on the north side of Houston, giving back and showing support to new and local talent.
“Every year, I do toy drives and turkey give-a-ways for underprivileged kids in my hood. I know what it’s like to have a mom that works more than one job just to provide for her family, so I just play my part in helping those single mothers out,” said the rapper.
Slim plays a positive and supportive role in the lives of fresh Houston talent such as Kirko Bangz, Propain and Instagram comedic star, King Keraun, who was featured on Slim’s most recent mixtape entitled “Boss Life.”
Slim made a conscious effort to thank all of his family and supporters for making this day possible, but he also made sure to include a positive message for the kids within his speech.
“I also want to prove to the youth that dreams can be achieved through hard work and dedication, [and] I want to motivate you to be leaders,” said Thug.
Slim ended the day with a special family and friend celebration at his favorite restaurant, Beacoup, followed by a late-night celebration filled with “bottle-poppin” alongside loyal fans and supporters.
