The embattled Riverside General Hospital is in the news once again.
This comes after employees at the historically African American hospital say they have gone without pay for nearly two weeks.
Those workers say officials in the hospital have promised to pay them but they have yet to receive compensation for the time they put in on the job.
Sources say workers could be paid Friday but workers say they have little faith in that claim.
You may remember in 2012 when the hospital was raided by federal investigators over claims of medicare/medicaid fraud.
Former CEO of the hospital Earnest Gibson and several others were also indicted. Their cases are still pending.
Riverside Issued this statement:
While we do not take this matter lightly we’re in the process of resolving this issue. We’re consulting our legal representation and we’re confident Riverside General will survive this ordeal…We’re hopeful to resolve this issue today.
