Author De Vale Simmons launches Teen Summit

Imagine a life-changing event for youth that could compete with 21st Century living while simultaneously thwarting negative outcomes… Imagine the opportunity to truly INSPIRE our youth with “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?” sessions hosted by live millionaires targeting entrepreneurship.

Or perhaps “You Are A Brand” sessions hosted by top marketing executives highlighting cutting edge industry skills, utilizing state of the art equipment, and downloading tangible resources that inspire youth and point them down actual career paths.

The Platform Youth is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that focuses on Economic and Career
Development by exposing students to entrepreneurship, culinary arts, the multi media industry, job training, and leadership development. We will be hosting our first annual Citywide Teen Leadership and Career Summit entitled, “I Am Inspired” on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the D-Spot Community Center.

The objective is to equip, educate, and expose students via career development, entrepreneurship, job training, and leadership development while empowering them through practical outlets (i.e., industry professionals, business executives, community partners). We seek to Inspire 350 plus students from the city of Houston and surrounding areas. Our target demographic is low income, disenfranchised, and at-risk students grades 7 through 12. The summit will consist of interactive “inspiring” workshops with industry professionals; celebrity panel sessions, guest speakers and artist, peer entertainment and life coaching sessions.

The Platform seeks to educate and empower low-income at-risk youth through quality programming
and services.

We depend on corporate and private sponsorship for financial support and look forward to you joining us as a “Platform Builder” in this event and future events.
