A Montgomery County woman could soon be facing criminal charges after investigators say she made up a mystery home intruder.

The woman, who’s name has not been released (41 year old White female only), called the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office over the weekend to report the home invasion.

She told investigators a Black male forced his way into her home and shot her in the shoulder.

Now deputies say the woman made the whole story up to cover up her own accidental shooting.

Officials from the Sheriff’s office say the woman was likely drinking and somehow shot herself and blamed it on the made up home intruder.

The case will be turned over to the Montgomery County District Attorney for possible charges.
