DANIEL FREUND SAYS HE’S SORRY FOR THE DEATH OF HALIE!

Press Release: Daniel Freund entered the Montgomery County Courthouse on
Monday, March 17, 2014 with Conroe defense attorney, Douglas W. Atkinson, in what was
originally scheduled as jury selection for his Intoxication Manslaughter trial.

Instead, Daniel Freund accepted responsibility and pled guilty to the offense for which he received a sentence of five (5) years in prison.

Daniel Freund and the entire Freund family have the deepest sympathies and offer their
sincerest apologies to the family of Halie McDonald for their loss. Prior to the sentence
acceptance, Daniel Freund had been under strict Court Order not to have any contact with Halie
McDonald’s family, directly or through any other person or media.

Adhering to this Order, Daniel Freund was unable to convey his remorse and express his sincerest apologies to Halie McDonald’s grandmother, mother, and the rest of her family. Daniel Freund is extremely regretful of the events that transpired on March 14, 2012 and the pain and devastation it caused.

Daniel Freund would like the Halie McDonald family to know that he is truly sorry for his
actions and the loss of their loved one.
