Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 4005 Hollister about 9:20 p.m. on September 9, 2013.

The suspect, Gustavo Rojo (H/m, 30), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Hernan Hernandez, 24, of Houston.  A second male victim, 30, was transported to an area hospital with a non life-threatening wound to the arm.  A photo of suspect Rojo is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer C. Cardenas reported:

Mr. Hernandez and another man were among a group of people in the parking lot of a strip center at the above address when a fight broke out between several people.  During the altercation, one of the males fighting produced a gun and fired several times at another male.  The shots missed the male and instead struck two bystanders.  Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation led to the identity of Rojo as the suspect in this case and, on April 22, he was arrested without incident.
