A prostitution sting at two ‘cantinas’ in east Harris County resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals and the filing of 21 criminal charges.
Acting on numerous complaints of possible illegal activity, the HCSO’s Special Investigations Vice Unit, in collaboration with The Human Trafficking Task Force, conducted a joint investigation that culminated on Thursday, May 15 with several arrests at Lolita’s Mexican Cantina, located at 11730 Beaumont Hwy., and Linda’s Bar, located at 2217 McCarty.
Both locations were found to be engaged in illegal activity, primarily prostitution.
The operation entailed undercover deputies entering the locations posing as customers. Once inside the business, the undercover officers would ascertain which employees and/or customers were engaged in illegal activity.
As a result of the investigation 15 women and 3 men were arrested for prostitution and various other charges.
