According to the investigators the injured employee sustained a broken leg and a laceration to his hand. Investigators also believe the driver of the car pushed the accelerator instead of the brake by mistake; however the incident remains under investigation.
Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a motor vehicle accident in the 3100 block of College Park Drive where a vehicle struck a building.
At approx. 9:58AM Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a motor vehicle accident where a vehicle had struck the Panera Bread restaurant and struck an employee. During the investigation deputies learned that a vehicle driven by a 64 year old woman lost control of her car hitting the exterior of the building.
When the vehicle hit the building a 40 year old male employee of Panera Bread was walking in front of the building and was pinned against the building by the vehicle.
The injured employee and the driver of the vehicle were both taken to a near-by hospital by ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation and the cause has not been determined.
