The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit is investigating recent cases of overdoses that have included high school age young adults.  

The investigation has uncovered a new drug threat in the community in the form of synthetic hallucinogens commonly referred to as N-bomb. These include 251-NBOMe, 25C-NBOMe which is derivatives of phenethylamine.  

Extremely small amounts of these drugs can cause seizures, heart attacks, arrested breathing and even death.  The effect of this drug mimics LSD and can last 6 to 10 hours.

Along with the associated medical issues users can also become aggressive and violent while also experiencing powerful hallucinations NBOMe is a clump white powder that can be snorted or liquefied and soaked into blotter paper and has been sold as LSD.  In 2013, 19 deaths were reported nationwide in relation to abuse of this drug.
