On Wednesday, June 25, at approximately 8:00 AM, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies responded to the 24300 Block of East Terrace Drive, in Porter, in reference to an open door/building check.  A resident had arrived to her home and discovered forced entry and the front door open to her residence.  The resident retreated and contacted the Sheriff’s Office to check the residence.  When Deputies arrived at the location to check the residence, they discovered a male, later identified as William Aragon, deceased in his bed.  The deceased resided at the location and appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds to his body. 

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Units, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators, and representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the location to conduct an investigation.  During the investigation, Detectives discovered there was an altercation at the residence earlier the same morning involving the deceased and another male identified as Kappy Joe.  After further investigation at the scene, Detectives secured a murder warrant for Kappy Joe, as well as a female who was present at the time of the shooting.  The female was identified as Derica Shipley.

At approximately 8:00 PM, on June 25, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Operators and Detectives ran a search warrant on a residence located in the 3800 Block of Wintergreen Drive in Atascocita, Texas.  Upon making entry into the residence, contact was made with both Kappy Joe and Derica Shipley.  Both suspects were arrested for the murder of Mr. William Aragon.  Two other individuals at the location were arrested for misdemeanor warrants and are not believed to be involved in the murder investigation. Evidence involved in the investigation was located inside of the residence and collected by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators.

Kappy Joe and Derica Shipley were both transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office where they were interviewed by Detectives.  Both suspects are currently booked in at the Montgomery County Jail on charges of Murder.
