Leo Colston, 60, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, is now in custody after being arrested on Thursday in California. Colston was wanted for sex offender registration violation and failure to register as a sex offender.

Following investigative leads, officers located Colston in downtown Los Angeles, where he was arrested without incident. Colston’s arrest was the result of a multi-agency investigation that included the Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office and Los Angeles Police Department. So far in 2014, DPS and other agencies have arrested 12 Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives, including six sex offenders and four gang members, and $34,500 in rewards has been paid for tips that resulted in arrests. The cash rewards are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:

Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
