Houston police officer John Calhoun is lucky to be alive and he’s showing his wound.
As you may remember Calhoun was responding to a call in north Houston Wednesday afternoon when he encountered a man with a gun.
According to investigators that man pulled the trigger and so did Calhoun.
Chief Charles McClelland says officer Calhoun didn’t know he was shot because of his protective police vest.
The suspect in this shooting died a short time later while the officer is alive.
As you can see from the photo posted by the Houston Police Officers’ Union the HPD officer is very lucky to be alive.
