He was called the worst cop at the Houston Police Department but now Sgt. Ryan Chandler is attempting to get his job back.
Chandler, who was fired by HPD Chief Charles McClelland this year, is appealing his termination with the city’s Human Resource Department.
Chandler was accused of intentionally not following through on his caseload (2008 – 2012 / 21 cases) as a homicide investigator.
During an April 2014 press conference Chandler was described as one of the worst cops at HPD by McClelland.
“He was lazy, he was a liar, he was not forthright with his supervisors, he misled his other co-workers,” said Chief McClelland.
The veteran investigator is being represented by an attorney from the Houston Police Officers’ Union at his arbitration hearing.
