Death came in 22 minutes Wednesday night in Huntsville for a man convicted of killing two people 21 years ago.
45 year old Willie Trottie was the 8th person to be executed in the state of Texas this year.
Investigators say Trottie became enraged when Canada left him and filed a restraining order against the former security guard.
The lethal dose of pentobarbitol was pumped in his arm at 6:13 pm…by 6:35 pm he was pronounced dead…but before Trottie died he said his final words to his family and the family of the victims.
Jason Clark is with the Texas Department of Corrections.
He repeated Trottie’s last word for the press: “I’m going home to be with the Lord I’m sorry stay strong Jesus take me home. ”
Next week there is another execution scheduled in Texas…Lisa Ann Coleman is set to die for the 2004 murder of a 9 year old boy.
Note: I served as a press witness at this execution. My first time after being chosen by the Texas Department of Corrections.
