A Houston mother sent me an email asking me to get out information about a blood drive this weekend. Megann Lundquist says her daughter Katelynn Jones was diagnosed with a blood disease in April. As a result the Prairie View A&M College student has undergone blood transfusions every four weeks. To help address the need for blood Lundquist is having a blood drive. Her note is below and make sure you get involved with the effort to save lives.
I’m having a blood drive this Saturday in honor of my daughter Katelynn who came down with a blood disorder in April. She is a freshman at Prairie View and is receiving blood transfusions every 4 weeks. I will have food, drinks, dj and serval artist from Houston to support us Saturday. I would like you to come out and join us and tell the city we need blood donors. It is from 2 to 6pm.
