Some members of the law enforcement community are angry after claims a recently slain Harris County Deputy is being victimized in death.
Ray Hunt with the Houston Police Officers’ Union says a local organization has made attempts to collect money on behalf of Harris County Deputy Jesse Valdez’s surving family members.
Valdez’s funeral was held Tuesday morning where about two thousand people were in attendance.
We placed a call to the organization in question and a person who answered the phone denied any attempts to collect money on behalf of Deputy Valdez’s family.
If you are interested in donating to the family of any slain officers Hunt recommends the organization The 100 Club of Houston.
Valdez was killed last week after a suspected drunk driver slammed into his patrol unit.
He was a single father.
