Once again there were long lines outside of Houston’s Municipal Court Monday morning. Houston City Councilman Michael Kubosh says this is unacceptable. However, those who work with the city court say the problem was the result of parking issues. The administration with the court issued the following statement:
The parking lot located directly in front of the City of Houston Herbert W. Gee Municipal Courthouse (1400 Lubbock Street) is currently undergoing modifications. As a result, there will be a reduced number of parking spaces available to the public – the entrance and exit points are also subject to change. Should the front parking lot reach full capacity, metered street parking and private pay parking lots are available around the courthouse. Please plan to arrive early to court. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience.
