It was back in January when 35 year old Carlos Soliz was killed after a minor car crash in Spring, Texas.
Investigators told his family the deploying airbag likely caused his death in the 2002 Honda Accord he was driving at the time of the crash.
As a result of Soliz’s death his brothers Eric and Scott have come together to try and save others.
They plan to hit the streets of Houston warning drivers to make sure they check their airbags for recalls.
The Takata airbag that was in Soliz’s Honda was the subject of a recall but it was never replaced because Carlos bought the car used.
The family says he had no way of knowing his vehicle was affected.
The Soliz brothers say they plan to get a big banner made this week to make sure drivers get their message and the hit the streets getting out the word.
Note: Honda is investigating the case and acknowledge the deploying airbag while the manufacturer of the safety device – Takata – has not responded ro our request for a comment on the case.
