Update: Spoke with Dan Cordell this morning who represented Judge Sharp in this case. He says, “two words, not guilty.” So, there you have it – Jim Sharp was found not guilty of assault. The case is over!
The Factor has learned Jim Sharp, a former Justice of the First Texas Court of Appeals, is on trial today.
Our sources say Sharp, who served from 2009 to 2014, is on trial for assaulting a person.
Those familiar with the case say the trial is underway in Houston’s Municipal court.
According to court records Sharp is accused of grabbing the alleged victim by the face back in October 2014.
We placed a call to Sharp’s Houston based law firm for a comment but so far have not heard back.
We’re told the charge is misdemeanor assault which means if he is convicted he will likely get some sort of fine.
Stay tuned for details.
