The Factor has learned Houston police officers are being told to be alert when they respond to calls for service at a southeast Houston apartment complex.

We’ve obtained an internal memo allegedly sent by the FBI Houston office to the Houston police department.

That memo warns law enforcement officers that a street gang by the name of the ‘Brick Boys’ is targeting cops at Crestmont Apartments on Selinsky.
According to the plot gang members are making fake calls to 911 in order to get officers to respond to the complex.

The information suggests once officers are near the back of the complex they will be ambushed.

The notice also indicates the assault on officers is because some tenants and gang members believe officers are providing protection to the owner of the complex who failed to pay the electric bill.

Residents were left without power at the complex off and on for about two weeks.

We reached out to Shauna Dunlap with the FBI who said they could neither confirm nor deny the documents we had of if they sent out the alert.

Dunlap went to say they would like to remind the public to report any suspicious activity.

Jodi Silva with HPD confirms they did receive the alert and the appropriate action was taken by the department.
