The owner of Torch Lifestyle, Alfred Nwagbo, has decided to make a difference in the community by giving back to 10 lucky people.

Nwagbo says he will provide personal training for a month to those who show the passion and drive to get in shape.

If you think you’re that person then go to and email the reason why you want to get into shape.

The questions section at the bottom of the webpage is where you should submit your request.

Good luck!

I would like to be selected along with my husband for the lifestyle change. He has recently been diagnosed as a diabetic at age 34 and it really rocked his world. He has been actively trying to shed the weight but doesn’t quite know the most effective ways to do it. I am a mother, wife and student along with working full time. While I have lost weight and started to go to the gym regularly I know I could make an even greater change with guidance and direction that I can hear to my everyday lifestyle. I feel it would be great to tag team this weight loss as a couple because no one knows our personal struggle better than the other and I just feel to shed the weight and get healthy together would be so gratifying! It is my hope that we are selected as I see this as a start to giving two people a fresh new start to a more healthy and fit lifestyle that we can incorporate into our lives daily.

I need to take my life back… I don’t know how to start…but I know I’m tired of being stagnated when it comes to my health.

I saw your segment on Fox News: The Isiah Factor…I am impressed and excited!
I wanted to write your organization: I am a divorced mom of 4 boys (3-adult, 1-minor) & a grandson. As a kid I was always “chubby”, I stretched out some but have always carried weight. During my 20’s/30’s I fell into the “skinny” trap (ALL Skinny Women images/ALL the time). I attempted to force my body to become something it was not designed for by nature. Now over the years society has been made to embrace (sometimes kicking and screaming into the new century)..that every-body is NOT the same. And “CURVY” is the so-called new (not for me..been that way for a long time). At 5-Oh (..and loving it) I really need to address my life-long weight issue head-on, with full ZEAL!! Presently I am heavier than what I weighed during my last pregnancy with my now 9 y.o., at 219 & 5’4″. What I have learned over the years is that I have depended on work to be a form of exercise: Cable Tech (outdoors), Warehouse/Logistics (lots of movement). About 2 years ago I relocated to H-Town from Chicago for better job prospects and weather, but became homeless to due job loss, I was resourceful enough to locate a local Transitional Living Center for Women & Children here in Houston, I and my son stayed in the program for just under 24 months, as I struggled to get back on my feet. I completed the training process where I would secure stable employment and saved money to successfully move out of the TLC Shelter and back into my own place. This job would last just shy of 3 yrs. Last summer my company downsized and once again I was out of work. My normal routine in-between jobs, I would (sometimes conscientiously) fall into a mental slump/depression…allowing worry from being unemployed, and the process of job search, and the thoughts of …”how am I going to provide for my family” sink in. The difference this time was I was better prepared to address the financial aspects, emergency savings & TWC Benefits, and had a different mindset (company layoffs are not’s business). This time around has caused my Blood Pressure to elevate, which happens when I gain weight. I believe that I would make a awesome candidate because of the Ups and downs and challenges that I have gone through. These “speed-bumps” (my nice name)..have been LIFE-lessons, which I have gained a better understanding of who I am, and well have shaped me (although not the shape I had in mind!). Nonetheless, I soldier on. I may be down..but I am not out. I may stumble/fall-down, and get scrapes/bruises…those are just badges of honor…which I take into my next battle. I am not trying to be a size double Zero, I have been a DOUBLE-digit DIVA since I was born (1Ts, 2Ts, 3T’s). My self-confidence/self-doubt would come into play when I was out of work. I just started a new job and it allows me somewhat more freedom than previous employer. Ultimately my goal is to be able to maintain a health weight
(my end-target is 160 lb /20% body fat) and incorporate a healthier lifestyle for life. It is with that, I write your organization. I am READY, ABLE (no doubt I may grumble along the way..but please ignore those speaking in tongues “outer-body” stomach rumblings) and WILLING to do what must be done..for the long term. …if not NOW…then WHEN?” #NOWit’sTIME! Thank You 🙂

  5. TyBreun Branch January 3, 2016 5:32 pm

hey Alfred I’m emailing you because I would like to be one of the 10 people chosen for your fitness program. My name is TyBreun and I’m a 27 year old single mother of two boys one 8 year old and the other 11 months. I started my fitness journey about 3 months ago after having my youngest son I dealing with a lot of issues is high blood pressure diabetes and I have severe asthma, so not only am I trying to get healthy for myself but I’m also trying to get healthier so I’ll be around for my boys. I have struggled with my weight on and off for about 8 years now with my highest being 236 pounds. The past 3 months I’ve been able to go from 236 pounds to 214 pounds all by myself and I’m very proud of that but I believe with your training skills and my dedication I’ll be able to reach my goal of 180. I’m very dedicated to working out I work out at least 3 to 5 times a week and I know I don’t need it as bad as other people but I’ve come to a standstill and I would like to know where to go from here I guess. If that mean 5 o’clock mornings and Saturday morning boot camps then I am ready for the job. I would just like to get my confidence back my sexy back and overall be the most healthiest I can be. I hope I’m one of the lucky 10 being that you are one of the best trainers in Houston I follow you guys on Instagram and Facebook and not only are you inspirational but I believe we attend the same church #Lighthouse lol well hope to hear from you soon.
