Dozens of friends and colleagues turned out Tuesday night for KHOU TV reporter Doug Miller’s retirement party.

The veteran reporter is calling it quits after becoming a staple and household name in Houston broadcast journalism for years.

Miller was presented with his own proclamation from Mayor Sylvester Turner as well as gifts from friends he’s come to know during his journey in life and in broadcasting.

The party, held at Carrabba’s on Kirby,  was hosted by Houston attorney Rusty Hardin and Accountant to the Stars Bob Martin.

It was a great event for a guy who is a class act!
