Sunday evening there was a prayer vigil for Alva Braziel who was shot and killed by Houston police officers over the weekend.
Police say Braziel had a gun but family members say he was out looking for his horse with his gun when he encountered the officers on Cullen near Ward.
Dozens of people gathered in the spot where Braziel was killed for a prayer vigil where it appeared contentious on video but remained peaceful.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner addressed the issue saying the officers were justified in shooting Braziel because he pointed his weapon at the officers.
Houston City Councilman Dwight Boykins says these issue in the community need to be addressed in the community.
