Dozens of people turned out in Houston Friday evening to welcome Houston’s newest anchor. Jonathan Martin was welcomed to the city by elected officials, viewers, colleagues, and even one old college roommate. The party was hosted by Martin’s co-anchor at KRIV-TV Melinda Spaulding. The event was held at the Alley Cat in downtown Houston. Martin thanked the crowd for coming and expressed sincere gratitude to Spaulding for being there as a friend for him every step of the way… He also says because of their closeness he calls Melinda his sister. The newsman also thanked D’artagnan Bebel, Vice President and General Manager at FOX 26, for breaking the mold and putting him on the anchor desk. Martin came from Al Jazeera as a national correspondent and anchor based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Welcome to Houston Jonathan!
