On Thursday, July 21, 2016 Constable Rowdy Hayden along with 6 deputies from his office donated their time

to raise money for the Texas Special Olympics at the annual “Tip a Cop” event. Between the hours of 5p-9p,

Pct. 4 walked the floor of the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Kingwood, TX introducing Texas Special Olympics

athletes to the restaurant patrons. The patrons were asked to “tip” the cops, where 100% of the cop’s tips

went to the Texas Special Olympics. In all, $3,300 were raised in those 4 hours to sponsor the athletes,

beating Pct. 4’s last year’s amount of $2,500. This event was held at Texas Roadhouse restaurants all across

the state of Texas.

Constable Hayden said, “It’s great to be able to take part in events like this. It was awesome to meet the

Olympians as well as introduce them to the people we serve and protect each and every day. I’m also proud

of my deputies that donated their time to help out.”
