HOUSTON EXECUTIVES WILL SLEEP OUT FOR HOMELESS YOUTH!

What will happen the night of November 17th?  We’re inviting everyone to join us at 7PM for the 26th Annual Candlelight Vigil & Rally for Homeless Youth as Covenant House youths share their stories of courage, award winning musician, Wayne Watson performs and, Carol Vance, former District Attorney of Harris County, honorary chair for the Sleep Out, will be speaking.  After the program there will be a reception with light refreshments and our guests will have a chance to talk with our young people.

Our Sleepers will participate in the Vigil program.  After the Vigil & Rally they will have quality time with the kids and take a van ride to areas where homeless kids hang out. Then…they will grab their cardboard box and sleep outside on the cold hard ground on the campus of CHT!

Nationwide, on the night of November 17, 2015, over 750 leaders in business, government, media and sports will sleep out on the streets of 16 cities in North America in solidarity with homeless kids.  Hundreds of young people in Houston/Harris County are homeless, while there are 2 million homeless kids in the US each year. This nationwide Sleep Out will raise awareness for the plight of kids on the street and raise money to support homeless and runaway youth.  For more info about the nationwide Sleep Out go to: www.thesleepout.org.  More info about Covenant House Texas. www.covenanthousetx.org

CHT will be accepting donations of new or slightly used winter coats, for toddlers, teenagers and young adults during the event.

The activities will be held on the campus at Covenant House Texas, located at 1111 Lovett Blvd. 77006. Near the corner of Westheimer & Montrose.
