On June 5, 2017 around 8pm, a Pct. 4 deputy was investigatinga suspiciousvehiclethat was occupied by 2 white males in the area of Fostoria Rd and Morgan Cemetery Road in Cleveland, TX. The suspiciousvehicle ended up being a 2016 Kia that was stolen from Montgomery County. As deputies attempted to make contact with the two white males, they fled the location and into nearby woods. With assistancefrom the Splendora Police Department, theRoman Forest Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Officea perimeterwas established. Both ConstableRowdyHayden and Chief Deputy Barry Welch made the scene and began to assist. A few hours later both males were located and detained. Inside thevehicledeputies locatedseveral stolen firearms, tools, a machete, an axe, a boltcutter, several needlesand other property, some of which was from a fresh burglary of a residence on Crossno Drive in Cleveland, TX. Thomas Barringer, 26 years of age from Livingston, TX has been charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony, UnauthorizedUse of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony and Evading Arrest/Detention, a class A misdemeanor.Kevin Caldwell, 22 years of age from Conroe, TX has been charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony,Evading Arrest/Detention w/ a Prior Conviction, a state jail felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, a third degree felony. Constable Hayden wants to thankthe surround agencies that came to help locate these criminals hiding from the deputies in the woods. Constable Hayden also thanked the Pct. 4 deputies that relentlessly work the streets, listen to the complaints of the residents in thearea and follow every possible lead available. Constable Hayden advised, “Hardwork pays off. Twoknow criminals are now in jail,stolen guns are off the street,a local resident hadproperty returned from a recent burglary and someone is going to get their car back, overall a very good nightand a job well done.”
