- Despite losing the Bayou Classic In new Orleans, it was a great week for Southern University in Baton Rouge.
The university’s board accepted a very generous donation from SU Law School graduate Tony and hos wife and attorney Judge Paula Clayton.
The couple donated $1.1 million that will be earmarked for a new practice facitlity that will be under the athletic’s department.
The facility will also be named after Tony Clayton who also served on the school’s board.
The institution of higher learning also received another $500,000 donation from Capital One bank.
So, despite losing the annual Bayou Classic football game Saturday against Grambling State University the school still came out on top!
