Billy Knight, the former UCLA basketball player who committed suicide last weekend after posting a video saying he ‘didn’t belong here on Earth,’ was arrested for sexually abusing a child in the weeks before his death.
Court documents obtained by TMZ Sports show the 39-year-old was arrested in Phoenix on June 14 and charged for sexual acts involving a girl that was nine.
He faced six felony charges including sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse and molestation of a child.
The court documents say the victim was abused at her home, in her mother’s bed.
Knight faced more than 50 years in prison if he was convicted on all of the charges.
Instead, he decided to take his own life.
Knight was found dead in the early hours of July 8, not long after he posted a video online saying his ‘time is up’.
