Houston rapper Chucky Trill was fatally shot early Friday on an Atlanta-area interstate, his manager confirmed. He was 33.
Trill, whose real name was Corey Detiege, was visiting Atlanta for the NBA All-Star weekend, his manager, Bone of Boneafied Entertainment said.
“He was very passionate about his music, very humble young dude,” Bone told the newspaper. “Just a good guy.”
The Gwinnett County Police Department identified Trill, from Sugar Land, Texas, as the victim of a shooting on Interstate 85 South near Jimmy Carter Boulevard at around 3 a.m.
Trill was shot at least once and died at a hospital, police said. Detectives said the motive remained unknown.
Trill was the son of rapper D of Trinity Garden Cartel and manager of Cash Committee Musik Group, his manager told the Chronicle. In 2018, he released the album “Music for the Soul” and was working on albums “Cartel Baby” and “No Rumors,” Bone told reporters.
