City of Galveston, Texas – Government to reopen beaches on limited basis starting Monday
In a split vote, the Galveston City Council on Thursday voted to reopen the city’s beaches for three hours each morning to pedestrian traffic only.
The beaches will be open from 6 AM to 9 AM each day. But only people who are walking along the beach, jogging or surfing would be allowed.
No one would be allowed to set up a beach towel and umbrellas and hang out during that time.
The limited reopening begins at 6 AM Monday (4/27/2020).
