Coming Monday on Isiah Factor Uncensored… An exclusive interview with Cyntoia Brown Long and her husband and my good friend J. Long… She talked about life after prison and how she’s trying to make a lasting impact after being freed on the murder charge! #CyntoiaBrown#JLong @j.longjfam
More about Cyntoia:
Cyntoia Brown Long (born January 29, 1988) is an American woman who was convicted of the murder and robbery of Johnny Michael Allen. Brown, who was 16 years old and involuntarily being prostituted at the time of the murder, claimed that Allen had paid her $150 to have sex with him, and that she feared for her life during their encounter, leading her to shoot him. Prosecutors argued that Brown killed Allen while he was sleeping in order to rob him. Brown was found guilty of robbing and murdering Allen and sentenced to life imprisonment.
She would have been eligible for parole at the age of 67. After renewed interest in her case in 2017, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam commuted her original sentence to 15 years and Brown was released on August 7, 2019. Her story is detailed in the 2011 documentary Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story and in her memoir, Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System.
Apple customers who purchased certain older iPhone models can now collect about $25 per phone, according to the settlement of a class-action lawsuit that accused the company of slowing down older devices.
SmartphonePerformanceSettlement.com, a website set up for customers to file their claims, the settlement applies to customers who purchased an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus and/or the SE before Dec. 21, 2017 and experienced performance and battery-life issues.
“Under the proposed settlement, Apple shall pay a minimum of $310,000,000 and a maximum of $500,000,000,” read a notice on the claims website. “Apple will provide a cash payment of approximately $25 per eligible device, provided that Apple will not pay more than $500 million in aggregate to the Settlement Class Members.”
The website was developed for affected customers looking to file their claims or review their other options, including excluding themselves from the lawsuit to retain the ability to sue Apple individually.
Users must submit a claim online or through mail by Oct. 6 to be eligible for a payout.
Earlier this year, Apple agreed to pay up to $500 million as part of the settlement agreement for the “Batterygate” scandal that has prevailed for years.
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion said Wednesday that a shooting outside a Hollywood Hills mansion over the weekend left her with “gunshot wounds” and she “underwent surgery to remove the bullets.”
But an LAPD account makes no mention of the artist being struck by gunfire outside a house party Sunday and refers only to her suffering a foot injury in the incident.
Recording artist Tory Lanez was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon after he was detained leaving the area before dawn in a vehicle that eyewitnesses said may have been connected to the reported gunfire.
Police swarmed the neighborhood in the 1800 block of Nichols Canyon about 4:30 a.m. Sunday for a “shots fired investigation.” According to the Los Angeles Police Department, “witnesses to the incident provided a description of a suspect(s) and their vehicle.”
Officers responding to the scene stopped a vehicle matching the description and detained multiple people, according to a statement.
Lanez, 27, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was arrested and subsequently booked before being released on $35,000 bond, jail records show.
On Wednesday, however, Megan Thee Stallion — whose real name is Megan Pete — posted on Instagram that “the narrative that is being reported about Sunday’s morning events are inaccurate.”
“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” the “Savage” songstress said.
“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night,” she wrote.
In a video of the aftermath, both Lanez and Stallion can be seen in handcuffs as officers try to determine what happened.
In a statement Wednesday, the LAPD said one person was taken to the hospital “with a foot injury.” Two sources familiar with the investigation said Stallion was displaying an injury at the scene consistent with her being struck by shattered glass.

The community of Tamina was established by freed slaves nearly 150 years ago.
And in 2020 they still don’t have a modern sewer system, fire hydrants, or even one location to determine if the residents of the predominantly Black community have the Coronavirus.
This is Our America in the era of Covid 19!
