HOUSTON POLICE OFFICER KILLED IN HELICOPTER CRASH!

Mayor Sylvester Turner and Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo announced this morning a Houston police officer has been killed.

That officer, whose name has not been released, died after he and another officer crashed in one of the department’s helicopters this morning.

Chief Acevedo says the helicopter known as ’75 Fox’ went down around 2 a.m. near Greenspoint Bayou.

Witnesses say they saw helicopter crash while in autorotation in 10700 block of Imperial Valley near an apartment complex.

One of the officers was transported to Hermann Memorial where he later died.

That officer (the tactical flight officer) is survived by his wife and two young children.

The pilot of the helicopter is undergoing surgery as of 6 a.m.

Acevedo says we have lost a really good man.

The NTSB and the FAA will conduct an investigation into the crash.

HELP CATCH THE BURGLAR!

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Burglary and Theft Division need the public’s assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a Credit Card Abuse. 
 
On Saturday, March 14, 2020, at approximately 3:27 a.m., an unknown black male suspect used the victim’s stolen credit card to make an unauthorized purchase at a convenience store located in the 6300 block of San Felipe Street in Houston, Texas. During this incident, the suspect was captured on video surveillance using the stolen credit card to purchase items at the checkout counter. The credit card was stolen that same day in a burglary of the victim’s vehicle while parked in the 7500 block of Burgoyne Road.  The suspect was seen leaving the store in a black car (possibly a Dodge Challenger). 
 
Suspect: Black male, 20-29 years old, 5’10”, 160 lbs., wearing a blue and gray sweatshirt, silver track pants and red shoes.

THE BEAUTIFUL SOMETIMES BROWNISH WATERS OF GALVESTON RE-OPENS MONDAY!

City of Galveston, Texas – Government to reopen beaches on limited basis starting Monday

In a split vote, the Galveston City Council on Thursday voted to reopen the city’s beaches for three hours each morning to pedestrian traffic only.

The beaches will be open from 6 AM to 9 AM each day. But only people who are walking along the beach, jogging or surfing would be allowed.

No one would be allowed to set up a beach towel and umbrellas and hang out during that time.

The limited reopening begins at 6 AM Monday (4/27/2020).

On Saturday, March 28, 2020, at approximately 10:46 p.m., two unknown suspects burglarized a business located in the 6900 block of Raton Street in Houston, Texas. Video surveillance captured the suspects breaking into the building and stealing copper pipes. During the incident, the suspects stole approximately $45,000 worth of copper pipes. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel.

HPOU PRESIDENT JOE GAMALDI LOADED UP HIS SUV AND DROVE TO THE WOODLANDS MONDAY AFTERNOON.

HE DELIVERED HUNDREDS OF SUPPLIES WITH SEVERAL BIG BOXES THAT INCLUDED PROTECTIVE SHOE GEAR, RUBBER GLOVES, AND PROTECTIVE MASKS.

THE WOODLANDS FIRE CHIEF PALMER BUCK SAYS THE SUPPLIES WITH HELP HIS GUYS ALONG WITH POLICE OFFICERS ON THE FRONT LINES AS THEY BATTLE THE CORONAVIRUS.

Surveillance Video, Photo of Wanted Vehicle in Crash That Injured Child at 4600 Galesburg Street!



Houston police have released surveillance video and a photo of a suspect’s vehicle wanted in a crash that seriously injured a child at 4600 Galesburg Street about 5:35 p.m. last Monday (April 13).

The surveillance video of the vehicle, a silver/gray Chevrolet Sonic.

Investigators in the HPD Hit and Run Unit stated the female suspect driver knew she struck the child, a pedestrian, because video shows her speeding away from the crash scene and then running a stop sign. 


It is believed the suspect is an Asian female, about 25 to 35 years of age.  She is wanted for felony failure to stop and render aid. 

The victim, a 7-year-old boy, sustained multiple broken bones and head trauma.
